Trent Rowing Club Nominated for Community Group of the Year!

We’re delighted to share that Trent Rowing Club has been nominated for Community Group of the Year at the Your Heroes Awards 2026.

This recognition reflects what has been an incredible year for the club, and one that simply wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our members, volunteers, families and the wider Burton community.

Over the past six months, a small team of volunteers has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to help secure the club’s future. From launching our “Ducks in a Row” crowdfunding campaign to organising our first-ever duck race on the River Trent, the effort and commitment has been outstanding.

The duck race itself was a huge success, bringing more than 200 people down to the club and seeing 280 ducks race along the river. For many visitors, it was their first time at Trent Rowing Club, and it was a fantastic opportunity to showcase what we do and welcome new faces.

Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, families and supporters, alongside Sport England match funding, we’ve raised over £32,000 towards our new boat shed and the future development of the club. While there’s still more to do, this is a huge step forward!

This nomination belongs to everyone who has played a part, whether you’ve volunteered your time, taken part in events, supported fundraising efforts or simply been part of the club community.
