Trent Rowing Club at the British Rowing Championships 2025
What an incredible four days it has been for Trent Rowing Club at the British Rowing Championships 2025, held at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham. Against a backdrop of sunshine, wind, rain and fierce national competition, our junior squad rose to the occasion and delivered an unforgettable performance.
With two silver medals, a gold, and several strong showings in the A, B and C finals, this year’s Championships were a real showcase of our club’s teamwork and determination.
Podium Success for Trent
The highlight of the weekend came as Jessica and Madison won gold in the WJ15 double sculls, retaining their national title for a second consecutive year. Their hard work and determination in the final proved unbeatable.

There were also two impressive silver medals to celebrate:
In the WJ16 coxed four, Caitlin, Olivia, Alice, Ania, and cox Leon rowed an outstanding race, pushing the leading crew right to the finish line and securing second place.
On Sunday, the WJ15 quad of Madison, Jo, Jessica, Megan, and cox Ania charged through their A final, showing incredible focus and unity to take a well-earned silver medal.
These results are a testament to the hours of training put in on and off the water, and the strong coaching support behind each crew.

Strong Finishes Across the Board
Beyond the medals, we were proud to see many of our young athletes delivering strong performances in highly competitive categories:
Jessica and Ania competed in the WJ16 single sculls on Friday. Racing solo at a national championship is a huge challenge (Jessica was rowing up a year!), but both handled it with determination.
Charlie and Tom represented Trent in the Open J18 double sculls (OpJ18 2x). Racing in one of the most competitive junior men’s events of the weekend, they showed power and technical skill against strong opposition.
Meg stormed to 1st place in the WJ14 1x B final, winning in style and showing she’s one to watch.
Betty and Cecelia put in a strong performance in the WJ14 2x C final, delivering an under 4 minute PB in a competitive category.
Jo, racing in the WJ15 1x showed great resilience in the C final.
Nathan competed in the OJ15 1x on the final morning, gaining fantastic experience
Every athlete represented Trent with pride, passion, and sportsmanship, whether racing in an A final or pushing hard in earlier rounds.
Thank You to Our Coaches & Supporters
Success like this doesn’t happen alone. A huge thank you goes to our brilliant coaching team, Karl, Kellie, and Milena, for guiding, supporting, and encouraging our crews throughout the Championships and all season long.
We also extend sincere thanks to all the parents, volunteers, and club supporters who helped behind the scenes, carrying boats, cheering from the sidelines, sharing shade and umbrellas, and creating a positive team environment over the four days.
A Final Shout-Out to Our Athletes
We are incredibly proud of every Trent athlete who raced this weekend. Congratulations to: Alice, Ania, Betty, Caitlin, Cecelia, Charlie, Jessica, Jo, Leon, Madison, Megan, Nathan, Olivia, and Tom. You gave it your all, showed what it means to row for Trent, and made us proud.
Looking Ahead
With three medals, personal bests, and valuable experience under their belts, our Junior squad heads into the remainder of the season with confidence. We’ll take the lessons and energy from this championship and carry them into our next challenges on and off the water.
On behalf of everyone at Trent Rowing Club, thank you to British Rowing for hosting a superb event, and to all our families and supporters.
