Double Gold and a Course Record: Jessica and Madison Shine for Trent Rowing Club

Trent Rowing Club is celebrating a phenomenal weekend of racing at the 2025 British Rowing Junior Championships, with our junior double of Jessica and Madison taking home gold for the second year running, and setting a new course record in the process!

After victory in the WJ14 double sculls in 2024, the duo returned this year in the WJ15 category, proving their dominance once again. Not only did they defend their title, they did it in spectacular fashion, smashing the Nottingham Holme Pierrepont 1000m WJ15 course record with a time of 3:52.3 mins.

This back-to-back gold medal performance marks them as two of the most promising young rowers in the country, and an inspiration to our growing junior squad.

But the celebration doesn’t end there, thanks to strong performances across the board, Trent Rowing Club ranked 11th overall in the Victor Ludorum standings, and an impressive 10th nationally among junior clubs.

The“little blue shed on the banks of the River Trent” is now officially among the top 10 junior rowing clubs in the UK based on this year’s British Championship results.

These achievements are a testament to the dedication that runs through our club, from the rowers and their tireless training, to the support and guidance of our incredible coaching team.

A huge thank you to coaches Karl and Kellie, whose expertise and commitment have been central to this success, and of course, heartfelt thanks to the parents and proud grandparents whose support makes it all possible.

The future is looking bright for Trent RC and as Jessica and Madison’s blades cut through the water with gold-standard precision, it’s clear that the next generation of talent is already making waves.
