We’re absolutely delighted to have been nominated for Community Group of the Year at the 2026 Your Heroes Awards!
The awards recognise the amazing individuals and groups who make a difference across Staffordshire, so to see Trent Rowing Club among the nominees is a real honour.
A Proud Moment for Our Club
Trent Rowing Club has been part of Burton-upon-Trent for over 160 years, and like many grassroots sports clubs, we rely on the hard work, generosity and enthusiasm of our volunteers to keep things going.
Over the past year, our small but determined team has worked incredibly hard to raise funds for our new boat shed, with our Ducks in a Row campaign bringing together members, families, local businesses and the wider Burton community. From organising our first-ever duck race on the River Trent to fundraising, finding sponsors and spreading the word, it's been a real team effort.
What started as a fundraising challenge turned into something much bigger, bringing people together, raising awareness of our Club and reminding us just how supportive our local community can be.
A Huge Thank You!
We're incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped us along the way. Whether you've donated, sponsored a duck or volunteered your time, you've all played a part. And of course, a special thank you to our fantastic committee and volunteers, who have put so much time and energy into securing the future of Trent Rowing Club.
This nomination really is a lovely recognition of everyone's efforts, and we're very proud to be included.
Congratulations and good luck to all the other nominees! There are some truly inspiring people and organisations doing wonderful things across Staffordshire, and we're thrilled to be in such good company.
Now we'll just have to keep everything crossed!
Thank you from everyone at Trent Rowing Club!
