Three wins for Trent Rowing Club at Burton Sprint Regatta
Trent Rowing Club rounded off a busy weekend of racing with another strong showing at the Burton Sprint Regatta on Sunday, securing three event wins and a number of impressive performances across the club.
Junior success continues
After Saturday's success, Trent's juniors were back in action and once again delivered some excellent results.
Hollie and Esme had a superb run in the Women's J14 Band 2 Double Sculls, winning the opening race against Doncaster Schools' Rowing Association before progressing through the semi-final against Derby. The Trent crew then completed an unbeaten day by defeating Burton Leander in the final to take the event win.
There was more success for Elisa, who followed Saturday's victory with another win in the Women's J12 Single Sculls. After progressing through the semi-final against Nottingham & Union, she beat Derby in the final to make it two wins from two regattas over the weekend.
Make it stand out
Seven Trent wins over the Burton weekend, Elisa winning on both Saturday and Sunday.
Nathan also put together a strong series of races in the Open J16 Band 2 Single Sculls. After victories over Becket Rowing Club and German club GTRV von 1880 Lingen, Madeley reached the final, where Thames Scullers took the win.
Masters victory for Russell
Trent's masters squad added another win to the weekend's tally, with James taking victory in the Open Masters C Single Sculls, beating Nottingham & Union in the final.
Elsewhere, TRT-Blackhall progressed from the opening round of the Women's Band 3 Single Sculls, while Trent was also represented by Helen, Liv, Leon, Jo, Charlie and Joe and Kath across the day's programme.
With three wins at the Sprint Regatta following four wins at Saturday's Burton Regatta, it was an excellent weekend for Trent, with victories across Junior and Masters racing and plenty of valuable racing experience throughout the squad.
Congratulations to all our athletes and supporters who helped make it such a successful weekend for Trent Rowing Club.
