First established in 1865, the Burton Regatta and Burton Head is brought to you by the
Burton Regatta Association
Supported by Trent Rowing Club and Burton Leander Rowing Club.
Burton Head is our head race event. The main race is 3,500 metres downstream along a beautiful stretch of the River Trent. We also run a shorter 2,000 metre course for some Junior and low CRI rowers.
The event has been running since 2007 and is run from the Burton Leander and Trent Rowing Clubs' boathouses on Stapenhill Road.
Over the years Burton Head has become an enjoyable trip for local Clubs as the sport enters the Head season each year.

Burton Head Course
The Burton Winter Head is our flagship head race, attracting crews from across the region. The main course runs 3,500 metres downstream along a picturesque stretch of the River Trent, with a shorter 2,000-metre option available for junior crews and lower-CRI rowers.
First held in 2007, the event is jointly hosted by Burton Leander and Trent Rowing Clubs from their boathouses on Stapenhill Road.
Now firmly established on the rowing calendar, Burton Winter Head offers an excellent day of competition and has become a favourite fixture for local clubs as they prepare for the Head racing season.
Getting to Burton Head 2025
Burton Regatta is held on the Regatta Meadows, Burton on Trent.
Entry is free for spectators.
Vehicle Access Access is via Watson Street, Burton on Trent, DE14 3AH
Pedestrian Access The site can be accessed from Watson Street, The Ferry Bridge, or by the riverside paths.
