Burton Regatta provided 6 wins for the club this year.
On the Saturday Kenny Holmes, Matt Pountney, Antony Scott and Rob Williams opened Trent’s account with success in the Open IM3 Coxless Quad Sculls event. The Trent foursome saw off opposition from Warrington RC in the final of the event.
Club junior Ben Eames continued his winning streak. In J15 Single Sculls, one of the largest events of the day, Ben fought his way through to the final. Ben saw off his opposition in the final, comfortably collecting the silverware.
Trent’s squad added to their tally on the Sunday with wins from Amy Levitt and Hayley Emmerson in Women’s IM2 Double Sculls. Amy and Hayley saw off Bradford RC in the final of their event to take the win.
Ben Eames claimed the victory again in J15 Sculls. Ben won through the first round and semi final to progress to the final where he kept his cool and beat his opposition.
Competition debutants Jess Dickinson, Amy Steer, Eloise McMahon and Antonia Matthews, coxed by Will Reynolds won in Women’s J13 Coxed Quad Sculls. Facing Stourport RC in the straight final of the event they put their practice to good use and crossed the line first.
Members of Trent and Burton Leander’s female squads combined to form a composite crew in the Womens IM3 Eights event. Competing together for the first time the crew of Amy Levitt, Gemma Barker, Hayley Emmerson, Amy Bray, Hayley McAdam, Emily Field-Lucas, Sarah Elson and Rosie Winter gelled together. Coxed by Rob Jephcote, the 8 ladies saw off their opponents from Loughborough Boat Club in a thrilling last race of the day.
