Bewdley Regatta Weekend 2009 - 26 July 2009

Bewdley Regatta provided Team Trent with their latest wins of the 2009 season.

Amy Levitt and Hayley Emmerson triumphed in the Women’s IM2 double sculls event, the duo facing a home crew from Bewdley Rowing Club in their straight final. Despite having lost to this crew previously in the season, Amy and Hayley put their training to good use and powered away from their opposition. The Trent girls took the race and the event, finishing two lengths up.

Amy Levitt combined with Ben Eames in the Mixed IM2 doubles event. The pairing never really looked like losing in their straight final against Derby Rowing Club. Showing their ability over the Saturdays 800metre course, Amy and Ben built up an early lead which they held to take Trent’s second win of the day.

Ben also competed in the Open J15 sculls event. With 9 other competitors in the event the Trent junior had it all to do. Ben progressed comfortably through his first heat and semi final. Once again proving his ability in the final, Ben went hard off the start to amass a lead that he never relinquished. Winning the race with a verdict of ‘easily’ he completed Trent’s hat trick of wins for the Saturday.

Ben returned to the water on the wet Sunday to compete in the same event over the shortened 600metre course. Cruising through his first two rounds on the way to the final, none of the other competitors really challenging him. A City of Bristol sculler was his opponent in the final. Another easy win for Ben saw him collect his tenth victory so far this season.
