Hello and a very warm welcome from all at Trent Rowing Club!
We really hope that through reviewing our website you have gained a good impression of what we have been doing at our Club, and that you are now interested in coming along to have a go.
If you have wondered what it would be like to try rowing or sculling but have not ‘plucked up’ the courage to give it a go, please do come down and have a chat with a Club member or one of our Coaches. We are a friendly bunch and the bar is usually open and the coffee pot on the go. Our timetable is below, or give us a call or drop us an email to make sure that someone will be around - click here for our Contact Us page.
LEARN TO ROW - Trial Participant Scheme
The Club welcomes any prospective member, male or female, and of any level of fitness or experience. We operate a ‘Trial Participant Scheme’ where prospective members may try out the Club’s facilities and the Sport of Rowing for up to two months for a nominal monthly fee. This means that there is no obligation to pay a full years subscription to the Club until you are sure that the sport is for you. Click here for full details of the scheme.
We have competitive rowing squads who compete at all levels from novice to elite and international standards, and in all age groups from junior to veteran. The Club operates both senior squad and high performance programmes to support the aspirations of competitive club rowers and athletes focussed on regional regattas, national and championship events and regional and Great Britain trials.
We have a varied and enthusiastic group of coaches. With British Rowing coaching qualifications and a breadth of experience that is second to none, our coaches are further supported by our Head Coach, Derek Johnson, who has coached Henley winning crews as well as crews at all levels of World Championships.
The Club also has a strong and enthusiastic group of rowers who participate in our social rowing programme. These members enjoy their rowing or sculling socially and as an aid to maintaining general fitness whilst preferring not to compete at regattas.
In addition to a comprehensive and up to date fleet of boats, Trent Rowing Club provides land based training and gym equipment for use by our members. This includes a large number of Concept 2 Ergometers, Concept 2 Dyno Strength Trainers, and a variety of weight training and other equipment.
Come along and visit us - we would be delighted to show you around the Club and to answer any questions you may have about us or the Olympic Golden Sport of Rowing.
